Want to hear me read from my upcoming book? I'm one of the authors taking part in the Wilder Words virtual reading, along with other Fine Arts Work Center faculty, on Thursday, October 3rd at 6pm Eastern. It's open to the public and free to attend! I'll be reading from Wake the Wild Creatures. Just REGISTER to get the Zoom link.

It's the first of October and time for a new writing prompt. And if you know me even a little, you know I can't ignore that we've now entered the season for the unsettling, the uncanny, and the downright frightening. No matter the genre you write, this month's prompt asks you to face your fears.

If you missed Writing Prompt #1, which includes a little soliloquy on how I use prompts while drafting a novel, it's waiting for you here:

September’s writing prompt might involve a pair of scissors and an openness to discovery.

Now let's get writing...

But first, did you know that as a part of your membership here, you can write with me... live, to prompts, in Zoom? The workshop below is yours if you want it!
