The Dreaded Synopsis
I'm writing a new novel! Here's what I'm wrestling over in my diary: writing the synopsis before I really know what the novel is about...

I am doing a dastardly thing to my writing process. It’s an act that goes against my nature. It’s a screech in my ear and a thorn in my eye.
I'm writing the synopsis of a novel before I've written enough of the novel to even know what I'm writing about. Isn’t this some kind of Catch-22?
Why would I do such a thing when I’m apparently so unsuited for it? Well...
